A very useful travel box for small tortoises. It takes the worry out of transporting your tortoise and is also useful for vet trips, powercuts or other emergencies. The travel box is re-usable, so keep it handy and it will be ready to go any time you need it. The heat pack is a one-time use and should be disposed of responsibly after use.
This polybox is large enough for two tortoises in separate plastic tubs BUT the heat pack will need to be secured to the side of the box rather than the lid so there is enough air flow for the heat pack to be effective.
Please note this is for temporary use only and should NOT be a replacement for a suitable tortoise enclosure.
The travel box contains:
1 polybox (disinfected with F10 tortoise safe disinfectant)
External dimensions are 21cm(w) x 31cm(L) x 23cm(H)
The walls of the poly box are a cosy 2cm thick and will provide the extra insulation to help keep the heat in
There are 6 air holes (3 each side of the polybox) to allow enough oxygen for your tortoise and the heat pack to work effectively
1 plastic tub with lid and air holes for your tortoise to go in
Dimensions 17cm(L) x 11cm(W) x 7.5cm(H)
1 small bag of packing peanuts (these should be placed around the plastic tub to prevent it moving about
1x 40-hour disposable heat pack.
1 paper pouch attached to the lid of the poly box to place the heat pack in
Detailed instructions for use will be supplied with the travel box, including heat pack instructions
The heat pack will raise temperature inside the polybox higher than the ambient temperature for up to 40 hours. Please be aware that the temperatures achieved inside the polybox are dependent on ambient temperatures, therefore it is essential that you monitor the temperature inside the polybox during use (Tip: poke the probe of a digital thermometer through one of the air holes into the polybox so that you can easily see temperatures without having to lift the lid off the polybox and letting valuable heat escape!).
Please note that heat packs will stop working when the temperature falls below freezing.
Please read all instructions on the heat pack before use. We are not responsible or liable for any injury, damage or losses to persons or livestock through the misuse of any heat pack.
